I've walked this property with my friend Don Wood, and it is truly a beauty. If you turn off Highway 82 at the Old Snowmass post office and head south for 2 miles, then take a left onto Snowmass Creek Road, it's about 2 miles up on the left. If you come from Watson Divide, it's the second place on the left after you cross the bridge and head up the creek towards Snowmass Ski Area.
Some people would call the two homes a "tear-down", but you might disagree. They were designed by one of Aspen's leading architects in the late 1960's and early 1970's, and they have quite a bit of appeal, especially as a manager's home or a guest house.

Snowmass Creek runs right through the property for close to half a mile, and it's very beautiful along the creek. Small-stream fly-fishing for browns, rainbows, cutthroats, and brook trout is the name of the game here, and fishing can be challenging and excellent at the same time. The current is swift in the main part of the stream, with large boulders and pools providing shelter for the trout. There's a beautiful picnic area right below the house along the creek banks.

The property has excellent views of Snowmass Ski Area and particularly the Campground part of the ski area. The property is mostly flat, with good irrigation for the horse pastures. There's plenty of room for a herd of 15-20 horses. The pastures are sprinkled with small stands of Gambel oak, lending a burst of color to the property when the leaves start changing colors in the fall. All in all, this property is a winner. You won't see many properties of this caliber left in the Aspen area.
