NO DEEDED LAND! ACREAGE IS PRIORITY SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO HUNT ON PUBLIC LANDS
At a glance
Western Colorado Outfitters has provided quality outfitting services for over 40 years for elk, deer, and bear hunts, as well as horseback and ATV rides, game packing, and spring turkey hunting. Now it’s time for a new owner! The business has been a consistent producer for decades. Best of all, the camps are accessed by vehicle, avoiding the whole ordeal of owning and maintaining a herd of dude horses. Of course, if you want to use horses, you can, but most of the business is conducted by vehicles.
This permit has a total of 670 US Forest Service priority use days, which is enough to do quite a lot of business. The majority of the service days are for guided and drop camp elk, deer, and bear hunting. Other permit days allow for ATV rides, spring turkey hunting, mountain lion hunting, and overnight horseback pack trips. The permit includes four camp locations, including one base camp and three drop camps.
The Uncompahgre Plateau west of Montrose, Olathe, and Delta is known as one of the top big game units in Colorado. Unit 62, on the east side of the Uncompahgre, is an over-the-counter unit where hunters can buy elk tags for second and third rifle seasons without going through the April application process. The west side of the Uncompahgre is Unit 61, which has very limited bull tags. This business has permit days to pack game for successful hunters in Unit 61. The business also has day use permits to hunt on BLM lands in GMU's 64 and 65.
This outfitter has an excellent set of camp gear, with some of the highest-quality tents we’ve ever seen plus a great set of cots, camp stoves, ATV’s, and so forth.
