Local farmers pride themselves in raising top-quality peaches, pears, apples, plums, and cherries. Buyers at farmer's markets as far away as Boulder and Denver pay astounding prices for Paonia produce, but for the locals it's a matter of stopping over at the neighbors and buying a box of the best. The climate is ideal for raising flavorful fruit.
